Having made his name in the drum and bass raves of Eastern Europe, DJ and producer L Plus quickly came to the attention of the international scene. He cemented his reputation with a string of well-received releases on top UK labels including Urban Takeover, Formation, Viper, and RAM.
Earlier this year, his efforts came to fruition when Drumsound and Bassline Smith signed him exclusively to Technique Recordings. Now that the label bosses have paved the way into the mainstream spotlight with their tracks Close and Freak, L Plus is treading the same path. High-energy synth stabs combined with Shaz Sparks’ stunning vocals make Catastrophe as suitable for daytime playlists as it is for taking the roof off raves.
With this release including a half-time drum and bass version and a dubstep mix, plus a full-tempo
workout from remixer Subsonik, Catastrophe is set to light up dancefloors and airwaves on all
sides of the genre divide. This is going to drop hard wherever bass fanatics are gathered.

Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Technique’s label bosses turn the spotlight onto a hand-picked selection of other producers in this EP. While remaining unashamedly D&B, these six tunes draw on additional influences of dubstep and electro to show off new facets to the genre. From the opening low-end salvoes of 2DB’s VIRUS, and into Tantrum Desire’s expert synth-manipulation in Uncontrolled, all the way to the final track,Replica by Erb N Dub & L Plus, we see multiple styles effortlessly twisted into the breakbeat and bassline paradigm. Along the way, we’re treated to a solo workout from L Plus in the form of Gas Grenade, a female perspective from Technique newcomer Dushi in Candarel, and Dub Foundation’s Atlantic, a departure from their usual style. Overall, this EP is a blueprint for bass-heavy music going into 2012. And, given that Technique’s releases have consistently received Radio 1 and 1Xtra airplay from the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Fabio & Grooverider, and Annie Nightingale, it’s easy to see that these tracks are going to become a mainstay of raves and airwaves too.

 Tantrum Desire -- Reach -- Out Now

Fresh from releasing their Foreplay EP this summer (supported by the likes of Andy C, Chase & Status and Drumsound & Bassline Smith) Tantrum Desire step things up with the release of Reach out on Technique Recordings on 28^th November.

The London-based duo of Jay Faleye (Producer/DJ) and Devin Smith (DJ) have been setting dancefloors alight across the UK since 2004 with their own unique take on drum & bass, and Reach is no exception.

No doubt about it, Reach is a high octane adrenaline fuelled monster of a track, its razor sharp beats, high tempo bass line and lazer synths topped off with a killer pop edge that marks this out as something special, though no less than we’ve come to expect from Tantrum Desire. The package also includes the massive L Plus on a remix tip which is hot!!

Completing the release Tantrum Desire have produced their own Dubstep remix, that slows the tempo but not the energy, replacing the original’s rolling breaks with jacking half time beats and a throbbing bass line to create a genuine bass anthem.

Over the past seven years, Tantrum Desire have carved out a unique space with their trademark sound and Reach is sure to cement their position at the top table of today’s drum & bass scene.

L Plus is Technique’s latest signing and his label debut ‘Time Travel’ proves he belongs with the drum and bass greats Slovakian Martin Janak started Djing at University in Bratislava and soon became central to the Slovak scene.Known for his energetic and popular live sets L Plus has the support of many big name drum and bass players and has been described as a ‘name to watch’ by Drum and Bass Arena.
The Time Travel EP lives up to the hype- a futuristic drum and bass record with four great tracks, L Plus shows he has what it takes.The title track mixes heartbeat bass with a sample from the 1950s film ‘The day the Earth stood still’ but manages to bring the words bang up to date as part of an ultramodern club piece.
‘April’ builds from a slow atmospheric start to a fast heady beat, which combines the ticking of clocks with grimy bass.A beat this strong doesn’t require any vocals to move a dancefloor.‘Digital Sound’ combines space age samples and a ‘Pacman’ beat to start this club banger. This track fuses a robotic vocal with strong bass and hi-hats and the result is like a drum and bass rave in an 80s video games arcade.
‘Human Condition’ is another bass heavy treat with a foreboding introduction to a fast paced mix.
L Plus has pulled out all of the stops mixing telephonic samples with cow bells and a hypnotic vocal before the drop.
These amazing tracks mark the age of L plus at Technique; the dj has showcased his talents for introducing new sounds to shake up drum and bass.
