PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION

HURT & PAIN EP – HASHTAG

RELEASE DATE: 26th August 2012

At the moment, the Hashtag name won’t mean anything to you. When you
find out that it’s the new production moniker for Erb n Dub and KG,
though, that means a lot. These two guys have spent the last few years
becoming essential components of the drum and bass world. Between
them, they’ve remixed DJ Fresh, The Freestylers and Foreign Beggars,
built three labels, signed Netsky and Fred V & Grafix, and DJ’d and
performed live all over the world. That’s alongside the small matter
of consistently producing dancefloor-destroying records.

Their first release after signing exclusively to Technique Recordings,
the ìHurt & Pain EPî lays out the blueprint of what these two
producers are all about. The title track weaves a soulful vocal sample
and haunting melodies around sharp beats and expansive bass textures.
This is a tune to make ravers float away on a hit of pure music vapour.

Next up is ìParalysisî, which seems to offer a similar vibe in the
wandering-cloud intro before flipping the vibe and bringing the
thunderstorm. Hashtag throw it down hard into a grimy bassline, ghost
story riffs and snappy beats that are guaranteed to cause full-on
skank-out action.

Then we have ìTake Controlî. This delivers an tension-filled intro and
explosive drop that’s precision-tooled rewind material. With
expertly-crafted stabs and builds, to take the energy levels
increasingly skyward, this is the sound of Hashtag stamping their
authority on the dancefloor.

Finally, Hashtag reveal another secret weapon with a dubstep reworking
of ìHurt & Painî. Keeping the same atmospheric, tuneful motifs as the
D&B version, the slower tempo lets the low-end really come to the
forefront.

Erb n Dub and KG have proven their credentials individually, and now
they’ve formed Hashtag, this elite unit is set to hit raves and
airwaves hard.

Tracklisting:

1. Hurt & Pain
2. Paralysis
3. Take Control
4. Hurt & Pain (Dubstep Mix)

Crissy Criss – Let Go Ep (Includes L Plus ‘More Than Ever’ VIP mixes)

February 27, 2012 - 8:50 am No Comments

If you know anything about dubstep or drum and bass, you’ll know
about Crissy Criss. He’s been at the forefront of the scene since he
was a teenager and, more recently, has been bringing basslines to
the masses through his weekly 1Xtra show.
The main mix of Let Go is the one for the 140 bpm crew. Weaving
together old skool sounds, including the classic Amen break, Crissy
builds an early nineties hands-in-the-air intro before dropping into a
full-on dubstep tear-out.

And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s more to love on this release. The D&B Rollers Mix takes up
the tempo to full drum and bass speed, with floating liquid sounds expertly tempered by a
rough-edged low-end. Then, we have a remix from Technique’s recent signing L Plus, twisting up
the original’s sounds into a half-time D&B excursion. Finally, Mr Criss’s More Than Ever swaps the
euphoria of the title track for some good old-fashioned grimy bass and beats to make hardcore
D&B ravers screw up their faces.

This release is even more evidence that Crissy Criss has feet planted firmly in both junglist and
dubstepper camps. He’s got his finger on the pulse of both genres, so this is clearly music that
every bass-conscious DJ needs to be drawing for.

Tracklisting:
1. Crissy Criss – Let Go
2. Crissy Criss – Let Go (D&B Rollers Mix)
3. Crissy Criss – Let Go (L Plus Remix)
4. Crissy Criss – More Than Ever (VIP Mix)
5. Crissy Criss – More Than Ever (NSD VIP Mix)

OUT NOW! Hot new single from L Plus – Catastrophe Ft Shaz Sparks – Technique Recordings

January 31, 2012 - 8:23 am No Comments

Having made his name in the drum and bass raves of Eastern Europe, DJ and producer L Plus quickly came to the attention of the international scene. He cemented his reputation with a string of well-received releases on top UK labels including Urban Takeover, Formation, Viper, and RAM.
Earlier this year, his efforts came to fruition when Drumsound and Bassline Smith signed him exclusively to Technique Recordings. Now that the label bosses have paved the way into the mainstream spotlight with their tracks Close and Freak, L Plus is treading the same path. High-energy synth stabs combined with Shaz Sparks’ stunning vocals make Catastrophe as suitable for daytime playlists as it is for taking the roof off raves.
With this release including a half-time drum and bass version and a dubstep mix, plus a full-tempo
workout from remixer Subsonik, Catastrophe is set to light up dancefloors and airwaves on all
sides of the genre divide. This is going to drop hard wherever bass fanatics are gathered.
So, get ready to step inside the heavy bassline, soaring hook, hard-hitting beats, and twisted
vocoding that make up Catastrophe from L Plus.

Crissy Criss – More Than Ever EP – Out Now – Technique Recordings

December 13, 2011 - 11:55 am No Comments

Crissy Criss  - More Than Ever EP

Technique Recordings

Release Date: Sunday 18th December

Crissy Criss has been on the scene since the age of 11, but his work has only improved with time and his latest EP is further proof of this. Following tracks and collaborations such as ‘Kick Snare’ and ‘Tika Toc’, Crissy Criss has released a new EP of his own work, and it’s a smash. The radio 1xtra drum and bass guru knows how to blend different genres to create the perfect mixture for dancefloor mayhem.

This mixture of styles is showcased in ‘More Than Ever’; a space odyssey style build up leads to a combination of dark dub over a faster drum and bass beat that is out of this world. ‘Need me’ takes the record in a dubstep direction; this track is like a great 90’s dance tune updated with grimy dub beats. The strong vocal and piano threaded through make this a perfect club piece.‘Everybody’ is fast paced and gets faster and grimier as the beat goes on. A huge build up to the theme ‘Everybody in the club get hyper’ tells you what to expect when you drop this track. ‘Gangsta’ is a slower and more intense bass tune which starts with arcade effects and slow sirens. This is an original sound, which makes use of a broken up reggae styled vocal.

Crissy criss has a long history in drum and bass but continues to shine with this new EP, which demonstrates once again his ability to mix styles and still produce dancefloor smashing beats.
