With the release of their debut album Diversified, 2015 has been the biggest year so far for Tantrum Desire. We spoke to Jay to find out what he enjoyed most about releasing it and his plans for next year.

Releasing your album earlier this year must have been your highlight of the year, what did you enjoy most about bringing it out?
The album was a big project for me this year, it took a good year and a half to write and after spending so much time on it, I was only eager to finally share it with everyone.

It was refreshing to branch out to different tempos and styles in the process of making it, which gives a taste of what else I enjoy writing. I was astonished by the great response, support and love ‘Diversified’ received before and after it was released, which meant a lot and made the time spent working on it all worthwhile.

Since the release I’ve been taking the album on tour all around Europe, USA and Australia throughout the year, and still now. It’s been a blast so far.

What have been the other highlights of 2015 for you?
Shooting the music video for ‘Oblivion’ (taken from album) was a lot of fun, where it was shot at the massive ‘Rampage’ in Belgium. Another highlight was playing at Shambhala Festival again in Canada this year at the Village Stage. This is a Festival that is definitely one to experience if you haven’t done so already.

What’s the most memorable crowd you played to in 2015?
There are so many memorable shows from this year, but to pick one in particular, I’d have to say ‘Rampage’ which I mentioned above. Over 15,000 energetic ravers going wild with a huge stage production firing away. It was my third time playing there so I knew what to expect, which was nothing short of amazing.

What have you been up to recently?
I’ve pretty much been back in the studio writing new material since the album. I’m currently collaborating with some vocalists at the moment and, of course, making more heavy bass tracks for the dance floors. On the other hand, traveling every weekend to play shows and still touring the album.

Which artists should we look out for in 2016?
There are so many artists these days that have been releasing some really good music. What I’ve noticed in my playlist this year is quite a few tunes from Dimension, who’s been on top form constantly bringing quality music to the scene. I’m also liking a lot of tracks that Smooth has been bringing out this year, one who is definitely on the uprise, every release of his has been a banger after banger for sure. So on that note I’d say look out for these guys.

What are your plans for 2016?
To get the next set of releases ready, writing more music for the world and to prepare for the upcoming shows and tours in 2016.
