Biography
Technicolour is a bearded record collector and part-time creator of drum & bass music based in the leafy confines of South West London. He’s been listening to fast electronic music ever since tuning into Pressure FM in 1992 and hearing Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era’s ‘Far Out’. His first musical purchase was the cassette version of The Bangles ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’, but in the interests of credibility we shall instead acknowledge his first ever vinyl purchase; Acen’s ‘Trip II The Moon’.
Taking inspiration (ie samples) from old jazz, soul, soundtracks and library LPs, Technicolour has been making music on his computer since 2002, with varying degrees of success.
In 2007, Ennex Records released his debut 12″, and shortly after Drumsound & Simon ‘Bassline’ Smith signed him to their legendary imprint Technique Recordings. Since then things have been progressing rather nicely, his tunes sounding less and less shit with every release. DJ support has come from the likes of Annie Mac, High Contrast, Logistics and Blame and he is currently working on his debut album, which is scheduled for release in late 2010.
