Across multiple aliases, Drumsound & Bassline Smith have been hitting us with releases from all angles recently. As, for obvious reasons, 2020 is the year of the live stream, heads all over the world have been introduced to huge tracks like ‘Ecstasy’ and ‘Multiverse’ in the comfort of their own home, in the sets of some of the top selectors around.
And now here’s something else brand new from the DBS studio.
‘I Can Never Get Enough’ sets the scene with a mellow chord progression, giving us that flavour of sunlit optimism that defines a summertime anthem. But this is Drumsound & Bassline Smith on the buttons, so we all know that there’s every chance things are about to get a touch more gritty. And the arrival of bass-weight as we enter a straight-down-to-business eight-bar build signals exactly that.
Sparse, unforgiving drums punch us into submission as the driving grind of the bassline takes control. And while that’s bubbling like lava in the lower registers, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, with their master break-manipulator technique, deliver layers of evolving percussion that keeps the energy at red-line levels. Big tune.
So, yet another addition to the list of tracks we can’t wait to hear on a club rig from the mighty Drumsound & Bassline Smith. Lockdown’s getting shutdown.
